Florida Atlantic University establishes new HPC-center

SGI LogoSGI reports in a press-release that Florida Atlantic University (FAU) purchased a new Altix 3700 system. This system will be the base for South-Florida’s first High-Performance-Computing Center. The press-release states: “The SGI technology will initially be used for six projects: the creation and analysis of advanced tools for parallel program development, biometrics, experimental mathematics, solid-state physics, biomedical science, and media systems development.
